Rachel's Fairy Houses

Log house 2 story Add Video

Wow! This wild and woodsy fairy house in a sculpted log was just an amazing adventure to make. The very first attempt on a variation of my other fairy log houses that I've made. I think it turned out very nice! I hope you do to! The fairy included with this house is a collectible from the "Faerie Glen' collection. Cast from high quality porcelain resin, she is exquisitely beautiful in the attention to detail . The name of this faerie is "Dewdance". This house was sculpted first from professional grade paper mache over a wire mesh frame that I created, both inside and out. This process alone took two days to complete! I then painted the form with 6 custom made shades of browns to make the "log" look like real wood. Then I pieced sections of gathered, and clean bark around in various places. I am sitting just two feet away from it and I have a hard time telling the real wood and painted surfaces apart. It looks THAT real! All the furnishings inside I made by hand, including a delicate harp. There are so many fairy delights inside this house you will be amazed! Fairy treasures are tucked into nooks and crannies, and on the little built in shelves. It is so much fun to look around in! And, Yes, that is a REAL antique skeleton key that she has found! One of the most lovely things about this house is the beautiful little fairy that is perched just outside the doorway lacing up her ballet slipper. She has just finished practicing her harp, reading her favorite book, having a Blueberry snack and is getting ready to go venture out into the woods to see what wonderful things she can go and find today. What a life! smile (Note: I did not make this fairy. She just fluttered over and took a seat, and decided to move in. smile ) This house comes with working battery operated lights. batteries are included with purchase. It weighs 7 lbs and sits on a slate stone base with felt feet. Dimensions for the base are 12" X 9". The log is 12" tall X 7" wide X 6" deep.
