About Me

I have been interested in making dolls and doll clothing since childhood.  May favorite types of dolls as a child were the smaller one's that I could build furniture and habitats for, like the "Thumbalina dolls." As I grew older, I discovered polymer clays and first began making Angel tree toppers, then faery dolls for friends and family. It has been my long time dream to create magical dolls and habitats that suit them. I am currently working on an elderly couple of "bodkins," magic folk. who stand between 12-14 inches, and live in wooded areas. Since wooded areas are scarse where I live in Brooklyn, these two are park dwellers, Prospect Park to be exact. They lived in a hollow of an old maple tree, with a small garden and bench swing in back until they were displaced by a recent onslaught of Brooklynites and their dogs. So they have packed up and have consented to move in with me for a bit. . . .but I think they have their eye on an oak tree up the next block from me.

Your new dolls sound wonderful. How clever to make them city fairies. I am going to start (or rather try to start) making dolls. I have everything I need all set to go. I can?t sew so that is rather a biggie. Naked fairies somehow lose their enchantment. Mine could wear little silk cloth wrapped around them and tied on with lace. Well, I will see. First make the dolls, right? Will you post photos of them for us to see when you are finished?
