About Me
It is really very difficult to start... Trying to figure out where to begin and what you would like to know. As I write this, I am listening to music...Both versions of Layla by Eric Clapton and Loreena McKennitt, my favorite. So, maybe music is a good place to begin... I adore almost all types of music with some exceptions. Last week Minnie the Moocher, sung by Cab Calloway from the 1920’s, was on my hit parade. When I was a child, and up into my teens, I had an operatic voice. I was a HIGH soprano. I could hit that high C note with ease. I never broke glass, though… I tried… but, never did. My parents arranged for me to have a private tutor for lessons. I loved singing, but hated to perform. I got physically sick before each performance. My parents said if it did not give me pleasure, then stop. So, I did and never felt such relief. Now, sadly, though, I sound like a croaking frog when I sing. As Universal Law teaches us… with any gift bestowed upon you, if you do not use it and care for it, you lose it. Oddly, though, I adore pubic speaking. I have no fear whatsoever. I could be asked to speak at the Astrodome without warning and speak in front of thousands; but, performing…eek! I am a miniaturist, artist in many different mediums, poet, and writer. I have series of children’s’ books in the works and am writing a field guide on mushrooms. My poetry includes haikus. I will be starting lessons in the art of Chinese brush painting. I am an avid gardener, do Tai Chi, design and make human and doll jewelry, treasure animals and work for their rights, and am studying for my PhD. Plus; I create doll dioramas and accessories for them. I love enchantment, fantasy, magic, imagination, creativity, elementals, ancient texts and languages, Sacred Geometry, make believe, fairies, fairytales, lore, legends, mysteries, secrets, hidden places and things, glitter, and found objects. I have two shops on Etsy: Enchanticals.etsy.com and LunasLoot.etsy.com, plus I sell only occasionally now on eBay - under the name of theartsyterrier. I am in process of creating my blog. I also have a Flickr account and my Flickr address is: http://www.flickr.com/photos/enchanticals. Enchanticals is…The place where enchantment resides…along with fantasy, imagination, creativity, magic, mystery, and lore. To enter, simply suspend your realities and drift through the myst and fog. Enchantment is always afoot at Enchanticals. At Enchanticals you will find…All kinds of enchanted handmade one-of-a kind creations such as miniature wizard/witch/faerie hutches and other furniture, wizard and faerie miniature bottles of potients, elixirs, miniature crystal balls, enchanted magic orb wands, elementals’ bottles, enchanted wands, miniatures, fashion doll vanities and jewelry, and much more… My handmade creations are made one at a time. There is no assembly line in my workshop. I keep no written recipes for paint colors or directions on how I made a certain item. That is why they are truly unique and one-of-a-kind. I am a proud member of these fabulous Etsy teams: * Dolls and Miniatures (DAM) Team * Fantasy Artists of Etsy (FAE) Team * MiniMakers Team * Miniatures in Dollhouse Scale (MIDS) On Flickr, I am in 39 groups… far too numerous to list! Many of my handmade enchanted creations have been featured on different Etsy Treasurys and on so many people’s blogs, which tickles me greatly! A Treasury consists of a hand picked group of artistic creations by an Etsy artist which are then showcased. It is an honor to be chosen by another artist on Etsy, who has a theme in mind, and then picks artistic creations by different artists in all mediums that fit her/his theme from among the entire artist community on Etsy. LunasLoot is…A treasure chest of… Supplies Galore to spark your creativity and imagination and high end and unusual Vintage Goodies to enchant and delight you. So, I invite you to visit, browse, and shop at Enchanticals.etsy.com and LunasLoot.etsy.com. Stay as long as you like and enjoy your stay. And while there, let your creativity, imagination, and ideas run wild. And remember; leave your reality and seriousness at the door. Hope to see you soon… Marsha Post a Comment |
