About Me

Aside from making fairy houses there are many other things that make my world go round.

I LOVE to read and read a variety of topics, but some of my favorites are historical fiction, and fantasy. I read the Twilight series, which I completely devoured in four weeks!

Music is also very important to me. It inspires me, moves me, and can transport me to another place and time. To listen to good music to me is like wrapping ones self up in a soft warm blanket. I am always listening to music and often sing as a I am working on the houses. My ipod is my work buddy! I listen to alot of world music ( celtic, spanish guitar, reggae, and middle eastern influenced) and have recently discovered the group Beats Antique which I simply ador! I also have a lot of chill out/ ambient funk in my playlist.

I live in beautiful Portland, Oregon. I love the diversity of Oregon. 2 hours to the coast, 2 hours to the mountains, 4 hours if you want desert country. It's all here. I only wish it didn't rain so much! LOL I am a warm weather kind of gal, although I was born and raised here. As I get older I yearn more and more for the sun and the warmth. It makes me feel so alive!

I love animals, and am a member of Defenders of Wildlife and the ASPCA. I believe that respect for our furbearing friends is very important. I rekindle my closeness with the fuzzy ones on a daily basis with my adorable Australian Shephard/ German Shephard mix, Sydney! She is a source of constant joy in my life and is always seeming to do something amazingly cute and funny.

Last, but by no means least, I have been married to the most amazing man, Jim, for 14 years. He is STIL the love of my life ! I have been so blessed with him in my life!

And of course, it goes with out saying, that I love anything Faerie!  If you were to ask me if I believe, the answer is yes, I do, whole heartedly.

One of my favorite quotes on the subject is from John Lennon. When asked if he believed in Faeries his reply was...

" I believe in everything until it is disproved. So, I believe in faeries, myths, dragons. It all exists even if it's in your own mind. Who is to say that dreams and nighmares aren't as real as the here and now? Reality leaves a lot to the imagination."

Where you believe there is magic... you will find it.

When I was showing off my new fairy house to my brother after he got home from work he immediately said "That looks like a fairy house from that movie...oh what's it called...A Fairy Tale: A True Story." Thought I would share:-)

Say, that John Lennon quote is a favorite of mine also. In fact, one of my listing on Etsy has it. You know what they say?great minds...

Love the look of the new website. I feel as if I am in a fairy forest. But, alas, you got rid of that glorious music. Any chance it will come back? If we get a vote, I vote, pleeeease, yes. Hahahahaha!

Rachael, hmmm? I do not see you on my friends list. Wanna be my friend, old fairy pal? I would love to be yours. Your website is glorious and your work gets more beautiful.

I am so sorry I have taken so long to write. Lots of stuff going on here. I had an explosion in my enchanted art room in March. What a nightmare. But, no one was inured, killed and no fire. But, from then on I think The Universal Consciousness became aware of me and had a bag of stuff to get rid of, so on my plate it went. Hahahahaha! NO problema.

I have so much to tell you and will do so via email.

Again, your site is like Fairyland.

Hugs, Marsha
